Info:

"Ireland Dubs" is an ongoing project in which the Whimsical posse pays tribute to one of our favourite music genres: Irish folk music. 8 episodes of this series form 1 season. At the end of a season might or might not come an album compiling all the episodes into one release.

In the third episode of the first season, Johnny Ireland reels it up at Cooley's. Well, not really. As cool as it would be if the song's title would refer to some legendary Irish pub, it's named after accordion player Joe Cooley.

Cooley didn't compose this song though. He just played it so much that it became connected to his name. The original name of the song is "Luttrell’s Pass" and was written by Galway-based accordionist Joe Mills, probably in the 1930s.

Have you ever been to Galway? We think it must be very nice there.
